In upcoming episodes audiences will see Dot decide to patch things up with her estranged sister after a bout of hypochondria, a BBC press release revealed.
It reads: 'Flighty, fun and not one to grow old gracefully, Rose couldn't be more different to Dot and she certainly isn't pleased to see her after all these years.
Emotional: Dot decides to track down her sister after a bout of hypochondria, but Rose isn't happy to see her
Polly Perkins, best known for her role as nightclub singer Trish Valentine in Eldorado, says: 'I am thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders, the show is a real British institution with an extraordinary creative team.
'I'm really looking forward to working with June again, who I have been friends with for over 30 years.'
Bad memories: The sisters have been estranged ever since Rose had an affair with Dot's husband Charlie Cotton
It was a different story when they were in character on the beach though - the pair were pictured looking strained as they engaged in a sombre conversation.
Polly, a former Windmill Theatre performer, most recently appeared on stage at the Phoenix Arts Club in London in the risque musical The Secrets Of Soho.
